the first quote in staza four supports the theme because the barber is trying to irritate the man from ironbark by making the water boiling hot and the second quote from staza four supports the theme because the barber is commencing the prank with an intention of a quick laugh. the quotes in the third stanza: “To the barber passed the wink , his dexter eyelid shut’ supports the theme because the auther was showing us that the barber was signaling the gilded youths that the prank would start and the other quote from the third stanza “i’ll make this bloomin yokel think his bloomin throat was cut” also supports the theme because this line is indicating the barbers intention to pretend to cut the man from ironbarks throat.
