the mechanic: the secret world of the f1 pitlane pdf

A really interesting read on what it was like to be in the inside of Formula One during when Red Bull had came into the sport and ignited the parties and drunken behaviour. Overall it’s a great book that feels genuine and honest, aLovely book if you’re interested in the world of F1 and want to know more about some first hand experiences. From his friendship with Raikkonen to the fierce rivalry between Hamilton and Alonso in their year at McLaren together.

Elvis was at McLaren at a very interesting time in it's history.

These are the guys who make every World Champion, and any mistakes can have critical consequences. This book is a celebration of immaturity. Marc perfectly encapsulates the passion in racing and the primal desire to win in Formula 1. The stories conclude the lavish and extravagant lifestyles not only the F1 drivers are living, but also the technicians from the pitlanes are enjoying every time they finish a race. The fast-paced writing and him being unapologetically vain is what made this be so hard to put down. Very disappointingMcLaren’s former number one mechanic Marc Priestley reveals what life was really like behind the scenes of the world’s most glamorous sport, F1.McLaren’s former number one mechanic Marc Priestley reveals what life was really like behind the scenes of the world’s most glamorous sport, F1.This was a fun one to read. Too many contraindicated stories to say he wad wasted most of the time.

From the tobacco sponsor days to the modern era of Formula One, the book chronicles Elvis' journey to with McLaren from 2000-2009, as he worked closely with drivers like David Coulthard, Mika Hakkinen, Kimi Raikkonen, and even superstar Lewis Hamilton.

Descargar El Transiberiano 1 (Guías de País Lonely Planet) … I have to admit I was quite judgemental of F1 before and thought the sport was over rated, the Netflix series does a great job of exposing new comers to the sport.Formula 1 is the pinnacle of motorsport, the teams have multi-million-pound budgets, some of the drivers are household names and for those looking in from the outside, it is seen as a high octane exotic sport.

The ego/stress/performance are all magnified and speed up by the F1 atmosphere, and I'm glad the author was able to pull this off and present us a whole new perspective into the F1 world. I like Marc better as a vlogger and TV personality than as an author, but his takes on Spygate and the Hamilton/Alonso rivalry, as well as the personalities of Kimi and Ron, is worth the price of admission alone.Great insight into the world of an F1 mechanic, especially the more human aspects of it. And yet, without the technical knowledge, competitive determination and outright obsession from his garage of mechanics, no driver could possibly hope to claim a spot on the podium. I think it’s well written, smart and funny, but it struggled to keep me interested half way, luckily for spygate to get me back on track.

I want to know about the cars, the metrics, how the jigsaw of a team produces a win at a Grand Prix event and I thought this author might go some way to explaining this. But the book was misnamed. I never really had F1 as something really entertaining, but the documentary changed it.Marc writes an interesting account of his time at McLaren, including the politics and turbulent relationship between its drivers at the time. The Mechanic: The Secret World of the F1 Pitlane I really enjoyed the split of technical explanations of how F1 mechanics (and the fact that F1 cars are nothing like road cars) and the stories of the shenanigans of what happened within teams. Really interesting look at the behind the scenes of Marc's time at McLaren (despite the title of the book this mainly focused on just McLaren). I would highly recommend this book for any f1 fan Overall I thoroughly enjoyed The Mechanic, and would recommend it for anyone who has been inspired by Drive to Survive, the behind the scenes look at F1 on Netflix. It is initially quite heavy on the debauchery and escapades but these tail off and revel many interesting insights.Really interesting look at the behind the scenes of Marc's time at McLaren (despite the title of the book this mainly focused on just McLaren). Not to mention all the partying afterwards.
