If Tour ’74 was a fairly straight-forward run through of his catalog, this was the beginning of his messing with his songs in a big way. As he finished up his legendary Rolling Thunder Revue tour, which would later be turned into a Martin Scorcese documentary that appeared on Netflix last year, he also took part in a TV special titled ‘Hard Rain’ where he brought the tour to NBC which dramatically fell short of the sky-high expectations. Martin Scorsese’s upcoming documentary Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story hits Netflix on June 12th, but right now you can watch a preview of Dylan playing “A Hard Rain… Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese looks a lot like a documentary. The footage has been painstakingly restored by Scorsese's team after lying abandoned for decades.The finished movie is set to premiere on Netflix and in select cinemas on June 12.

It’s fun to watch the same way Maggie’s Farm is fun to watch, but any semblance of subtlety is severely lacking. It was a ragtag, crazy band, and the show had an element of craziness and fun throughout, along with a sense of anything could happen.
’76 had its moments, but the sound of the band had changed, and more importantly the vibe had also changed.Isis was something that had to be seen and I have yet to hear a version from ‘76 that comes close to ’75 musically or otherwise.
