Pearson, earned the Nobel Peace Prize for devising the form of military intervention that has come to be known as peacekeeping.Let us remember Lloyd Axworthy, who was the architect of the Ottawa Treaty banning anti-personnel mines.It was also Canada, when we sat on the UN Security Council, that pioneered the concept of the “responsibility to protect,” a mechanism to protect victims of genocide.
