Amazing. Who, of course, needs rescuing by a man. If a cliffhanger has to happen, in the end, Bram makes it out and Eve gets caught inside. The only girl born in fifty years.

I got so fed up of the very twee love angles that every author threw in and as a woman in her mid-40's I wanted more out of a book (which is fine, they're not written for me). 0718186346

Eve is the last girl on earth. Eve and Bram have distinct voices, I liked the supporting characters (especially Hartman, who I think deserved more page time), and I liked the look into the technological advancements made in an attempt to understand the female drought and keep Eve in containment.I don’t know if I’d recommend people buy the book at the price it is – especially in Waterstones – but if it’s ever on offer it’d be worth the look.

A Hunger Games-esque novel... a compelling read The Mail on Sunday. Like I said, it’s an amazing premise, and maybe I’m a tad biased because Mcfly were part of my childhood and for most of my teenage years I’ve watched Tom and Gi (and Carrie) on YouTube. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. I choose this to have another try simply because of the authors and it hasn't really made me want to start reading these books again. Some people love books. The premise of this novel is so good – the only girl in fifty years, scientists cannot understand why, governments go into lockdown, the world turns into chaos.Eve is sixteen and it is time for her to go through the ever-looming ritual of getting pregnant in the hopes that she births a girl; that the gene that created her will allow another girl into this world. However, I could not click with this book.I wanted to like this book because I think Tom and Gi are fantastic people and I expected to like it because Gi is a talented adult writer.
Bram who was someone else.All of a sudden everything Eve has known is brought into question and she starts breaking down the lies and manipulation; her entire life has been controlled and she cannot justify bringing her children into a place so full of corruption.I liked the novel overall. So I was a little disappointed by that statement in the bookI received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The second book in the bestselling Eve of Man trilogy. I can’t even get my thoughts in order to review it properly!
